Shopping district in Seoul

Gyeong-dong Market is the biggest herbal medicine market in Korea. Located in Jegi-dong, Dongdaemoon-gu, it is the center for special agricaltural products, the biggest ginseng and Korean herbal medicine trade market. In addition, sacrificial service products, fish, side dishes, clothes and flowers are traded there, too.

Started at the end of the 1950s, Gyeong-dong has grown to comprise over a thousand stores. The herbs are shipped directly from their source, so the prices are lower than other oriental medicine clinics.

Yongsan Electronics Arcade is located in Wonhyoro, Yongsan-gu.

It offers a variety of electronic products. There are many choices of electronic products and parts at low prices. You can take subway line 1 to go there.

Itaewon shopping district began after the Korean War in 1950 when the American a foreign diplomatic quaters settled in Itaewon and Hannam-dong. It began to be recognized as a tourist shopping district following the '86 Asian Games and '88 Olympics when many tourists visited for shopping. Home to a lot of foreigners and many 1st rate hotels, Itaewon is well suited to the foreigners' taste for shopping.
